Once a mighty huntress, now an old crone, many people believe that Maka is one of the few Azen who has been effected by the curse of time. She is the goddess of land, soil, rocks, and the wars fought for those first three aspects. It is believed that Maka will bless the lands of those who prove that they are willing to fight for it. These blessing have often resulted in vicious cycles were the best lands were claimed by one group, only for those lands to become even better and attract the attention of even more contenders.

Followers[]

The cult of Maka is known to tattoo themselves in an attempt to appease her so she may grands them her blessings in battles but only a few actually receive it. Only the greatest of champions are blessed by her but this wasn't always so. In the days of old it is believed that Maka would bless almost every follower who proved himself worthy, and that every town or city had their own champion of Maka. Over time the amount of champions has slowed down which most people attribute to her becoming senile and blind, making it harder to recognise the talent of mortals.

Myths[]

The huntress and the sea[]

One day, when the Primordial plane had not fallen far from the dream yet and they where still close, Maka was known as the strongest and mightiest huntress of all the gods. No matter what creature they made, Maka would track it down and slay it. Until one day Tenno created a giant monstrosity which would surely challenge her: He made it so slippery it would escape every trap, so formless that its silhouette would always change, and so abhorrent that it would surely provide a challenge for the huntress. He called it the Leviathan.

Maka accepted the challenge and gleefully went out to hunt the monster. After days of searching she finally managed to cornered the creature in the rocky islands of the Dream. The monstrosity for his part fought tooth and nail to survival this encounter with the monster slayer and it eventually managed to stab her with its spear-like appendages. As the blood gushed out of her Maka began to flinch, and she left her eyes of the Leviathan for one second, which was just enough for it to make it's escape.

Maka's blood flowed over the corners of the island, and fell all the way down into the lower parts of the Sahul, creating an red ocean of blood. Over time the red parts sank to the deepest depths, which left a clear liquid behind. From this liquid an beautiful child formed and swam her way to the surface. Maka accepted this child of her blood as her own daughter, who she named Shima: goddess of water.

Throwing spells in crystal houses[]

Once upon a time Maka and Gamelon, the god of magic, got into a argument over which was stronger, magic or rock. Gamelon claimed that magic could easily beat rock. While Maka argued that her rocks could crush his wimpy magic. Eventually the debate got so heated that the two decided to settle it once and for all.

They went to battle and Maka tried to get in the first strike. She threw every type of rock at her disposal at the floaty god, but he matched her blow for blow. First she threw coal at him, but he set it aflame with psychonic mana. Then she sent iron at him, but he rusted it away with elemental mana. In frustration she lobbed a boulder at him, but he split it in two with phonic mana. Her limestone plates he eroded away with corrosion mana, her glass shards he exploded with radiant mana, and her clay soldiers fell lifeless to the ground when hit with necrotic mana. Some even believe that some of that necrotic mana hit Maka herself.

As her opponent seemed to outclass her at every possibility she retreated to a cave to sulk and think. None of her rocks seemed to provide the answer to her problem, until she came with an idea. She didn't have to crush the magic (no matter how fun that might be), she just had to beat it. So she created a crystal that could store magic in itself, effectively making it useless.

Gamelon was laughing and howling harder than he ever had before when he saw her return to the battlefield with a tiny dagger-shaped crystal. "This is the last trick in your box, huntress?" he asked her. "Believe me, it is all that I will need. Prepare to be buried jester!" She replied and she began to charge at him with a crystal in each of her hands, one green and one orange. The god of magic thew a bolt of arcane mana at her which dashed at her with the speed of lightning but she managed to parry it with the orange crystal. Gamelon had expected the crystal to shatter under the immense pressure of the magical power, but was bitterly surprised when he saw it not only in one piece, but glowing! Maka quickly pointed the green crystal at the god, and returned the bolt straight to the face of the sender. With this the battle was concluded. Gamelon had to accept that stones were better than magic and Maka threw the crystals at the ground with rest of her creations where they would eventually become makanium.
