Low Elves, also known as Moon Elves or Drow, are a light-skinned race of Elves that predominantly live their lives working in the mines for the High Elves. Some believe this is simply the order of the things, but other Low Elves broke their chains and ran away to the surface world. These Low Elves commonly get scared and confused and will form hostile communities to protect themselves from the dangers of the land, thou some get inspired and become adventures.

Description Edit

Low Elves are shorter than many other races of elves, amd female Low Elves are typically taller and stronger than males. Man are usually around 1.45 - 1.70 m (4'7 - 5'5) while females usually vary in height from 1.58 - 1.78 meters (5′2″ - 5′8″). Low Elves weighed somewhere from 45 - 77 kg (100 to 170 pounds).

Low Elf skin is pale, often with an snowy hue. Low Elf hair is commonly blond, white, or silvery white, although some may colour it to distance themselves from their past. Low Elf eyes are very commonly a bright red, although some have blue or green eyes. Female Low Elves with blonde hues in her hair indicate the Low Elf in question is of an older age. Elder male Low Elves have naturally silvering hair. This hair is carefully groomed and cared for by most of them and worn long with jewellery and other accessories decorating it. Like all elves, Low Elves are incapable of growing beards, though many males are fond of long sideburns.

Low Elves have lifespans far beyond those of humans and but comparable lower than those of the rest of the Elven races. This is, of course, presuming the Low Elf didn't meet a premature and violent end, as many often do, but those that survived the trials of their work and the dangers of the surface can live for a century, with a natural lifespan of up to 150 years.

Abilities Edit

Low Elves have special abilities that differentiate them from other races, including other elves. they are as agile as the other Elves but have a certain down-to-earth charm to them that the other Elves lack.

Low Elves have a tremendous resistance to magic and own a number of magical-abilities unique to them. Low Elves own the ability to naturally cast dancing lights. Apart from its obvious use as light source, it can be used to divert attention, shocking others with the sudden appearance of a glowing figure, or shocking them with the sudden appearance of Will-O-Wisp-like light balls. Some may tame Will-O-Wisps to make this tactic even more effective.

Low Elves soldiers learn to cast more advanced spells. One of these is faerie fire, which apart from its obvious use, can be used as a colour signals to convey information over long distances by exploiting it's colour changing ability. These Low Elves can also learn the ability to naturally create a cloud of darkness. This blackness looks like a monolithic stone and Low Elves may use this fact to create ambushes or to cover up traps.

Psychology Edit

Low Elves are ambitious, humble, distrustful, and easily manipulated. From birth, Low Elves are taught that they are meant to serve other elves and dig gemstones all day. Children who resisted this fate are brutally punished and beaten into submission. It js important to recognise that the their position isn't natural. The Low Elves slowly grew into this position after years of trying to help the Elven races to survive after the turmoil of the disappearance of The great city of Al-Kanish.

Years of abuse has lead to a race of emotionally stunted people, with a tenuous grasp on sanity and scarred mentalities among which relatively undamaged minds are considered abnormal. Luckily for them, their graceful Elven appearance gives them a comparatively easy time to be accepted into the communities of the surface. Free Low Elvish often have a sickly love for beautiful things and will try to surround themselves with what they considered beautiful. They don't really pay attention to how much it will cost them. They also like to partake in lavish parties, indulging in the pleasures of life, including long nights of dinner and stimulating massages Some Low Elves are fond of dancing or creating music and turn this desire for pleasure into a stable job, becoming skillful bards with songs of sorrow and freedom.

When everyone is hungry, the world teaches you to be distrustful to others from a young age. For the Low Elves, forming bonds has become something of a mostly temporary nature as the other is likely to either betray you or to die. Even Low Elves who escaped the cruelties of the mines find it more difficult to form long-term friendships than most races do. Most Low Elves share a grudge against other Elves and especially the High Elves, who they call "Darthiir". An Low Elf will often put another Low Elves before others, even if they don't known them as well.
