A deity is a being of great power that controls some aspect or law of the universe. The gods of Sahul are ruled by the two high gods Tenno and Konsulh. Most gods have abandoned the planet after the deceleration of Tenno. Despite of this most peoples and races are still loyal to gods, and there is little to no alternative religions on the planet. The only race that doesn't pray to the gods are the Orcs, who after slaying the Dusk Lord, the first and only known god to ever die, have abandoned their faith.
The gods were born in three phases: First came Tenno and Konsulh, who were born directly from the water of Az. Then came the Azen who were made from the body of the slain Az. After them came the Chi: gods who where born from other gods. The gods gain their divine powers from the Pill of Immortality, made by the great sage Zayn-Geif, and losing access to this pill will make them lose their immortality and godly powers.
Worship[]
Worship is usually done through small sacrifices, dedicated to a specific god, inside of local temples or roadside shrines. The sacrifice is made out of a food or object related to the god it is destined for and three sticks of incense which point in three of the four cardinal directions. This sacrifice is then placed in a small box woven from harakeke flax fibres and left in the sacred place for the gods (or local wildlife) to consume.
