Elves, also known as Star Elves or Eldar, are the most populous of the Elves. They are commonly found in forests, swamps, and other wildernesses. From time to time the elves have organised strong republics, though these are less common than High Elven monarchies. In some cases the Elves have even adopted a nomadic lifestyle.

Description Edit

Elves stand at average from 1.64 – 1.82 m (5'4" – 6'0") and weighing in from 59 – 77 kg (130 – 170 pounds). Usually, Elves are a naturally slender and athletic race.

Elves have a similar range of complexions to humans. Elven hair is usually black or brown, although hues such as blond or copper red can also be found. Elven eyes are commonly brown, hazel, or an emerald green. Elves are beautiful and handsome, and have pointed ears and no body hair except eyebrows, eyelashes and hair.

Elves tend to dress in simple clothes, with a few bold colours and a greater number of earth tones that blended into their natural surroundings. Accustomed to a harsh, naturalistic lifestyle, Elves love to wear leather armour, even when they are not under immediate threat.

Elves mature at roughly the same rate as humans, though they are not usually considered past adolescence until they reach 60 years of age. Unlike humans, Elves do not age dramatically as their lifespan comes to a close, with the most obvious changes being a change in hair colour, alternatively greying or darkening. Most Elves remain healthy and full of life up until their death, which, if age-related, commonly happens at the 2 century mark.

Abilities Edit

Elves have a number of abilities that set them apart from other humanoid races. Elves are agile, dexterous creatures and can move slightly faster than their Elven kin. Elves are also more naturally aware of their surroundings as well as possessing better common sense than other races. This aids Elves in many ways, allowing Elves a high degree of perceptiveness that they can use to aid their allies. Additionally, elves are extremely accurate in their attacks, having a degree of precision that would be unusual for other humanoids enabling even the least dexterous of elves to wield a bow.

Years of living in the wilds have given Elfs an strong mental fortitude, making their minds harder to take over than those of other races. Elfs can't sleep, instead resting in a meditative state called “trance”, which is as restful as true sleep but leaves them aware of their surroundings. This is similar to an High Elf’s ability to enter reverie.

Psychology Edit

As a people, Elves are largely seen as calm and level-headed. Arousing strong emotions in Elves is not something that's easily done. Elves can sometimes seem off-putting compared to others of their kind, with a gruff manner that makes them less charismatic, despite their compassion and humility. Due to their long lifespan, elves have difficulty taking some matters as seriously as other races, but when threats they recognise do arise, Elves will answer the call to action.

Elves make strong and uplifting friends. Most elves love simple joys such as dancing, singing, footraces, or contests of skill. Elves find a natural aversion to that which they see as uninteresting tasks and are fun-loving by nature. However, despite how unpleasant some things such as war can be, elves can become grimly serious if a threat to their friends, family, or livelihood makes such actions necessary.

Ingame-statistics Edit

Your Eldar character has a number of traits in common with all other Eldar.
Ability Score Increase. Your dex score increases by 2 and your wis score increases by 1.
Darkvision. Accustomed to twilit forests and the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern colour in darkness, only shades of grey.
Eldar Weapon Training. You have proficiency with the shortbow, and longbow.
Keen Senses. You have proficiency in the Perception skill.
Strong Will. You have Advantage on saving throws against being Charmed, and magic can't put you to sleep.
Mask of the Wild. You can attempt to hide even when you are only lightly obscured by foliage, heavy rain, falling snow, mist, and other natural phenomena.
Trance. Elves don't need to sleep. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. While meditating, you can dream after a fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Elvish. Elvish is fluid, with subtle intonations and intricate grammar. Elven literature is rich and varied, and their songs and poems are famous among other races. Many bards learn their language so they can add Elvish ballads to their repertoires.
